Peter Disera has been bike racing since 2007. Competing in the Junior Men’s division, in 2013, he had an amazing season. He captured the Ontario Provincial Championship in Road, Cyclo-cross, and Cross Country Mountain Bike. He was also Canadian National Champion in Cyclo-cross, Individual Time Trial, Road Criterium and Cross Country Mountain Bike. At the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Mountain Bike World Cup at Mount-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada, Disera won gold on his home soil.

His greatest achievement in 2013 was winning a Silver Medal in the UCI 2013 Mountain Bike World Championships (Junior Men’s Division) in Pietermaritzburg, Republic of South Africa on August 29, 2013. The winning of this medal, at a world championship event, qualified him for automatic induction to the Barrie Sports Hall of Fame.

At the time of his induction in 2014, Disera was still competing on the world stage.
