Barrie Sports Hall of Fame requests nominations for the Class of 2025

Inductees and Award winners to be recognized at the Induction Ceremony in October.

Barrie, ON: Volunteers of a local sports institution are hoping the 40th anniversary will be a hall-of-fame year all around. The Barrie Sports Hall Of Fame (BSHOF) plans on making the best of its Ruby Jubilee with a larger presence in the community to be capped off with the organisation’s Barrie Sport Heroes Dinner and Induction Ceremony on October 1, 2025.

Two city recreation centres, East Bayfield CC and Peggy Hill Team CC, will serve as satellite facilities, along with the Hall’s home at Allandale Recreation Centre, for the opportunity of over 2.5 million visitors to be exposed to artifacts of local heroes.

The sport celebrity dinner and induction event in October will lead the BSHOF in a new direction of reaching out and letting the community know of the city’s rich sporting heritage. Inductee banners on Lakeshore Drive and City owned facilities from May to October will show everyone their drive to let Barrie know not only who they are but, hopefully, open doors to schools to adopt an inductee and teach the youth who, what, and when of our local heroes, let the world know who and where Barrie is.

As for how to place a nomination for an inductee or award recipient, first, the nominator must be a member (as per the constitution) which requires a $25 lifetime membership.

The coach/team official must live or contribute to their sport within the city of Barrie.
